Do you trust Him?
Are you a person of faith? Do you trust Jesus? Do you trust Him with your pain, your joy, your success, your heart? Do you trust Him with your life?
Do you trust Him to feed you like the sparrow that neither sows nor reaps but never goes without? Do you trust Him to clothe you like He does the poppy, like the bluebell, that is clothed more beautifully than the finest clothes for the richest King that ever lived?
Will He not much more clothe you?
Captivated
What captivates you? Is it the beauty of your spouse? Maybe the morning sunrise or the crashing waves of the ocean.
To be captivated is to be influenced and dominated by some special charm, or trait with an irresistible appeal. What has captivated you lately? Maybe it was your latest summer holiday, but now you are back to reality?
We are to live our whole life in Him (Col 3:3). It says in James 1.2 to count it all joy - the good, the bad, and everything in between.
Contend for the faith
Let’s take a look at the Book of Jude together. There is so much we can learn from this letter.
We will focus mainly on verse 3 and verses 20 and 21. We are to contend earnestly for the faith by keeping ourselves in the love of God. If we are to keep ourselves in the love of God that means we can come out of His love, yet God says nothing can separate us from His love. So what does this mean?
Faith speaks, faith has a voice
Faith speaks, and faith has a voice. Faith calls those things that do not exist as though they do.
Faith comes from hearing the word about Christ. His Word causes us to see what is possible. In order for us to have the faith to say what He says we need to see what He sees. His Word brings us into His vision for our life
What do you see?
What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see your mistakes? Do you see your successes? What do you see when you look at your neighbour, your children, your enemy?
Do you see sin, or do you see redemption? Do you see the Father's love looking back at you?
Justified and sanctified
Justification and sanctification are two important words we should have some understanding of to help us grow in our walk with God.
But what do they mean and how important are they to our walk as a disciple of Jesus?
The abundance of God’s love
Understanding the depth of God's love for us will propel us to experience the abundance of His provision.
God's love for us is linked to His provision for us. What Father would not provide for his own? And what about God? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us, how will He not also along with Him freely give us all things (Romans 8:32)?
Become like Christ by guarding our heart
Our mission is to become like Christ, that’s the goal of every Christian.
In this episode we look at how guarding our heart makes us more like Jesus.
Becoming like Christ
The goal of every Christian is to become more like Christ, but how do we know we are on the right track? In this episode, we take a look at the importance of focusing on our input, not our output. God is our master heart surgeon and wants to tend the garden of our heart. He is also the one who performs His work in us by giving us both the will and the ability to become like Christ.
The Father’s Heart
We have been looking at the Father’s heart for us and in this episode, we will be looking at the principle that the Father’s heart for us is only known by seeing who Christ is and what He has done for us.
Abba Father
Christianity is not just about salvation and making it to heaven, but an invitation to know God as Father, as Daddy, or as the bible says Abba, Father. Join us as we explore the Father's heart together.
The True Gospel
There are many versions of the gospel in the world today, but the true gospel of grace is the only way to see the real Jesus. The degree to which we see Jesus is the degree and speed to which we are transformed into His glorious image, so we keep the gospel of grace at the centre of all we do.
So what is the true gospel?
Transformation
Our vision is to restore the glory of God to the church and fill the world with the knowledge of Him. In this episode we take a look at how we would do this and why?
Restoring God's glory to our lives can seem a bit abstract, but this teaching helps us to understand what to focus our time and attention on.
Restoring brokenness
We all know things are broken. God created us to display forth His splendour, He created us for His glory - but why aren't things working out like that?
As we pursue God's glory in the person of Jesus, He changes us from one degree of glory to another to become ever more like Him. We start to look in this episode at how God helps us to rebuild not only our lives, but the lives of those around us.
