The abundance of God’s love

Understanding the depth of God's love for us will propel us to experience the abundance of His provision.

God's love for us is linked to His provision for us. What Father would not provide for his own? And what about God? He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us, how will He not also along with Him freely give us all things (Romans 8:32)?

In this episode we take a look at the impact God's love can have on our life.

We consider three things:

1) Contending for faith in His love

Jude 1:3 says we are to contend earnestly for the faith. Faith in what? Faith in the love He has for us as His children.

2) How the Holy Spirit is the great revealer of the Father's love for us.

This is Holy Spirit's role is to teach us and lead us into God's love for us. 1 Corinthians 2:12 says "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God."

3) God’s abundant provision flows from knowing the abundance of God's love.

Knowing the depth of God’s love will cause us to have faith and provoke us to ask and expect BIG things from God. The fullness of God’s love is His limitless supply for our every need.

2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him We are to grow up into His love - Eph 4:15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ

If our whole heart is loved by the Father than our whole life will be entrusted to Him. The degree with which we let Him love our whole heart is the degree to which we will love Him with our whole heart.

As we grow up into Him and receive His divine love for every part of our heart this will cause us to ask and receive His divine provision for every area of our life.

Do you believe God loves you today? He doesn't just love you to get you to heaven but to get heaven into and through you every day.

Trust God and give Him your whole heart today, and then every day after that.

Reflection questions:

1.      How are you contending for faith in God's love today?

2.      How do we work with Holy Spirit to understand God's love and provision for us?

3.      What do you think about the abundance of God's provision flowing from the abundance of His love?

4.      How are you flowing in God's provision?

5.      Are you possessing your promised land?
