Restoring brokenness
We all know things are broken. God created us to display forth His splendour, He created us for His glory - but why aren't things working out like that?
As we pursue God's glory in the person of Jesus, He changes us from one degree of glory to another to become ever more like Him. We start to look in this episode at how God helps us to rebuild not only our lives, but the lives of those around us.
The vision: to restore the glory of God to the church and fill the world with the knowledge of Him.
Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations.
· How do we rebuild the broken desolations of many generations?
Application steps
Stop the rot:
1) Submit yourself to God, resist the devil and he will flee
2) Draw near to God and He will draw near to you
3) Don’t give the devil a foothold
